The first leg of the 2019 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League will come up in Asaba, Delta from July 13 to July 21.
Olatunde Morakinyo, Chairman Organising Committee of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ilorin on Wednesday.
Morakinyo, who is also the chairman of NVBF’s League Management Committee (LMC), said after the competition in Asaba, the Committee would decide on the next step.
He also rated high the ongoing division one league in Ilorin, saying the federation was lucky to have the University of Ilorin indoor sports hall to use.
“The players are now getting used to playing indoor. I am not saying we are perfect already but as time goes on, we will continue to improve.
“What we just did last year was to bring teams together and play somewhere. But this time, we are actually playing a league competition.”
On preparations for the African Games, Morakinyo said while matches at the competition were going to be very tough he was still confident that Nigeria team’s would triumph.
